Άννα Παντελιά είναι φωτορεπόρτερ με βάση την Αθήνα. Έχει σπουδάσει στο Tμήμα Φωτογραφίας του ΤΕΙ Αθήνας και στο Τμήμα Διεθνούς Επικοινωνίας και Ανάπτυξης του City University of London. Τα projects της και οι συνεντεύξεις της έχουν δημοσιευτεί σε μεγάλα μέσα ενημέρωσης, όπως το CNN, το Newsweek, το Al Jazeera, το BBC, το The Guardian, το Vice News, καθώς και στις μεγαλύτερες Ελληνικές εφημερίδες και τηλεοπτικά κανάλια. Ακόμη, έχει συνεργαστεί με μη κερδοσκοπικούς οργανισμούς. Μεταξύ των ετών 2012 – 2014 ήταν επίσημη φωτογράφος του CERN, ενώ το 2015 διακρίθηκε από το “Magnum Photos” ως μία από τις 30 καλύτερες φωτογράφους κάτω των 30 ετών. Φέτος, διακρίθηκε με το ειδικό βραβείο ανθρωπιστικής φωτογραφίας από το International Committee of Red Cross. Ο ‘φακός’ της εστιάζει στο πολιτικό σκηνικό στην Ευρώπη, και κυρίως σε θέματα μετανάστευσης. «Μια μέτρια από μια καλή φωτογραφία απέχει μόλις λίγα χιλιοστά» είπε ένας από τους καλύτερους φωτογράφους όλων των εποχών, ο Henri Cartier Bresson. Πολλές φορές χρειάζεται να περιμένουμε αρκετά ή να κάνουμε ένα βήμα παραπάνω για να πετύχουμε αυτήν τη στιγμή και αυτό το χιλιοστό που θα κάνει τη φωτογραφία μας να ξεχωρίσει. Το τελικό αποτέλεσμα θα είναι μία και μοναδική στιγμή. Η φωτογραφία αυτή καθ’ αυτή δε θα είναι καν σημαντική· σημαντική θα είναι η ιστορία πίσω από αυτή. Ποιες ιστορίες μπορεί να κρύβονται, όμως, πίσω από αυτή τη μοναδική στιγμή που αποτυπώνεται τελικά από το φωτογραφικό μας φακό; Από το κέντρο πυρηνικών ερευνών (CERN) στη Γενεύη ως τις ακτές της Λέσβου γνώρισα ανθρώπους με διαφορετικές ιστορίες και έμαθα να βλέπω τον κόσμο με μια πιο προσωπική ματιά. Αυτές τις μικρές και μεγάλες ιστορίες θα μοιραστεί η Άννα Παντελιά με το κοινό στην ομιλία της στη σκηνή του TEDxPatras 2017.

Anna Pantelia is a Greek photojournalist based in Greece. She holds a master’s degree in International Communication and Development (City University London), as well as a bachelor’s degree in Photography and Audiovisual Arts (Athens Technological Educational Institute). Her photographs and interviews have been published in major media organizations worldwide, such as the CNN, the Al Jazeera, the BBC, the Newsweek, The Telegraph, The Guardian, and the Vice News, as well as in major Greek newspapers, and TV channels. What is more, she has cooperated with various Non-profit Organizations. From 2012 to 2014, Anna had been the official photographer of CERN, while in 2015 she was acclaimed as one of the best photographers under the age of 30 by the international photographic cooperative “Magnum Photos”. Her work focuses on immigration and political issues in Europe. “A moderate photograph is just a few millimeters away from a good photograph”, said one of the best photographers of all time, Henri Cartier Bresson. Sometimes, we need to wait a lot or take a step further to achieve that moment and that millimeter, which will make our photo stand out. The final result will be but a single moment. The photograph in itself will not be significant; the story behind it will be significant. But what stories can be hidden behind this unique moment that is finally captured by our photographic lens? From the CERN in Geneva to the shores of Lesvos, I met people with different stories, and learned to see the world with a more personal look. It is these small and big stories that Αnna Pantelia will share with her audience in her speech on the stage of TEDxPatras 2017.
